Trump Organization, headed by legendary real estate investor Donald Trump, has announced that Rio de Janeiro will host its first hotel in South America.  The 13-story, 171-guestroom Trump Hotel Rio will be located in the Jardim Oceanico sub-district of the upmarket Barra da Tijuca, where most 2016 Olympic venues will be located, and will feature ocean and mountain views, as well as 11 suites with private plunge pools, a nightclub and a spa.

The $82.5 million project is the second Trump-branded development planned in Rio after Trump Towers Rio, a 5-tower office development which was announced in 2012.  The Trump Hotel Rio is part of the company’s vision to expand its Trump Hotel Collection to 30 properties by 2020 from 8 today.
